Jeg Coughlin continued his dominant run through the Pro Stock field at the NHRA Arizona Nationals and captured the No. 1 position through the first two of four sessions. He made a 6.536-second pass at 208.46-mph in his JEGS.com Chevy Camaro, the only driver to run in the 6.53s.

Coughlin has obtained every available point in the 2020 Pro Stock season, his final behind the wheel of a Pro Stock car on a full-time basis. His 136 points, six of which have come during qualifying at the NHRA Arizona Nationals, puts him above the rest of the competition following Friday's action at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park.

"This is pretty much the same car that we rolled into the trailer in Pomona and we just tuned it up for the weather here in Phoenix," said Coughlin. "It had a great 60 foot in the first session and I know all my competitors all laughed at me when I said it was struggling down low, but it was just choking on itself down low a little bit. I think we ended up being low for the session, but I know Rickie Jones ended up getting even more aggressive in the second session and we couldn't have been any more perfect."
