TOP FUEL Q3

Justin Ashley kicked off the nitro session with a respectable 3.799 in the SCAG dragster to improve his position. It’s worth noting that Top Fuel racers got just one qualifying session due to the 10 p.m. curfew.
Billy Torrence showed a sizable improvement to the No. 3 spot with a 3.726. Torrence also posted a robust speed with a 336.57 effort in the Capco dragster.
After several aborted attempts by Josh Hart, Jasmine Salinas, Leah Pruett, and Tony Stewart, Tony Schumacher went to the finish line with a 3.823.
MISSION #2FAST2TASTY CHALLENGE
It wasn’t pretty, but Clay Millican is going to the final round of the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge with a 4.274 to 4.796 win against Norwalk runner-up Antron Brown. Brown left first, but both drivers smoked the tires and Millican was able to recover more quickly with his Denso branded dragster.
Shawn Langdon hazed the tires, but had enough to get past Maddi Gordon with a 3.913. Gordon, still riding high after her Norwalk win, blazed the tires early.
FUNNY CAR Q3

With 18 Funny Cars on the property, there are no gimmes in the field as the bump spot is already a very respectable 4.05.
Cruz Pedregon fired the first shot in his patriotic Snap-on Dodge with a 3.952.
Paul Lee registered a 4.000 alongside Hunter Green’s 4.029 while J.R. Todd and Matt Hagan ran side-by-side threes with Hagan’s 3.970 slightly quicker than Todd’s 3.974.
Chad Green is seeking his third win of the season, and he might just get it this weekend after a 3.959 that is good for the No. 5 spot.
After setting the pace on Friday night, Jordan Vandergriff continued to lead the way with a 3.896 that was well ahead of the competition, including an otherwise competitive 3.946 by Daniel Wilkerson in the other lane.
MISSION FOODS #2FAST2TASTY CHALLENGE
Austin Prock left first against Jack Beckman, but the tide turned when the Motorcraft Ford hazed the tires and Beckman drove to a 3.951 to advance to the final.
Beckman will be paired with Ron Capps, who will have land choice after making the second-quickest run of the round, a 3.941 to beat Alexis DeJoria.
PRO STOCK Q3

Greg Anderson kicked off the third session of Pro Stock qualifying, and while he ran a competitive 6.548, it was clearly not what the HendrickCars.com team was looking for.
Alan Prusiensky didn’t run quick enough to crack the bump spot, but there was obvious improvement with a 6.628 in his Hemi-powered Dodge.
Joey Grose and Mason McGaha ran matching 6.572 elapsed times which became the new bump spot. McGaha got the No. 16 spot based on speed with a 201.37 mph run.
What followed was a parade of competitive runs including a 6.541 by Jeg Coughlin Jr., a 6.546 by Eric Latino and a 6.547 by Stephen Bell, who are all solidly in the field.
Greg Stanfield upped the ante a notch with a 6.524, a fantastic run considering conditions are generally not quite as favorable as they were during Friday’s second session.
Matt Latino’s odds of becoming NHRA’s next first-time winner likely improved after he drove his Power Edge entry to a 6.521, the best of the session.
Chris Vang backed up his low qualifying effort from last night with a 6.554 while Shane Tucker continued his recent string of impressive runs with a 6.523.
MISSION FOODS #2FAST2TASTY CHALLENGE
Aaron Stanfield, the winner in Norwalk, rolled though the first round of the Mission Challenge with a 6.524 to 6.545 victory over Kenny Delco.
Matt Hartford did everything right with a .028 light and a 6.517 but that wasn’t enough to hold off Dallas Glenn, who won by .0005-second with a 6.526 and a .019 reaction time. Glenn will have lane choice over Stanfield in the final round.
GETTRX PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE ALLSTAR CALLOUT
Richard Gadson left first and never looked back with a 6.782 to 6.832 win over Jianna Evaristo to reach the final round.
Gaige Herrera called out Angie Smith after the first round and then ran 6.687 for the win, although Smith put forth an honest effort with a 6.737. Herrera will race against Gadson for the $25,000 top prize.
TOP FUEL Q4

Shawn Reed picked up five hundredths of a second over his previous best with a 3.806 to kick off Q4 but early in the session that was only good for a one spot improvement.
Justin Ashley ran 3.812 but did not improve upon his earlier 3.799 effort.
Josh Hart dropped a cylinder, but still managed to record a 3.883 at 324.20 mph.
Billy Torrence has made a pair of clean runs on Saturday with a 3.794 that sets the Capco team up for what could be a successful Sunday.
Doug Kalitta, wearing Aflac colors, made the best run of the session with a 3.774.
MISSION #2FAST2TASTY CHALLENGE FINAL
The final round of the Mission Challenge was a pedal-fest after both Clay Millican and Shawn Langdon broke the tires loose. Both drivers slapped the throttle a couple times, but Langdon was able to recover more quickly to win with a 4.491 to Millican’s 4.646. Langdon now has four Mission Challenge wins this season.
FUNNY CAR Q4

Austin Prock came into the final session on the bump spot and dodged the first bullet when Dylan Winefsky didn’t get down the track. Prock attempted to better his earlier 4.05, and did so with a 3.980 to place himself solidly into the field.
Tim Gibbons had a chance to get into the field, but his car shut off at half track, setting the 16 car field.
Hunter Green used a 4.039 to secure his spot in Sunday’s eliminations while Paul Lee posted his first three of the weekend with a 3.975 in his Power Edge entry.
Side-by-side threes were next with J.R. Todd running a 3.962 while Cruz Pedregon remained consistent at 3.988.
As the session continued, the elapsed times got better with Alexis DeJoriay running 3.955 to Matt Hagan’s 3.957. Then, Spencer Hyde and Daniel Wilkerson ran 3.931 and 3.953 side-by-side although Wilkerson’s run ended with a bit of drama after he hit the guardrail after the finish line, destroying a set of headers.
MISSION #2FAST2TASTY CHALLENGE FINAL
The final round of the Mission Challenge was wild as Ron Capps and Jack Beckman both lit the tires at half track. Neither driver was willing to surrender and Capps hung on for the win with a 4.429 to Beckman’s 4.865. Capps crossed the centerline after the finish line, but that didn’t alter the outcome.
