PRO STOCK CALLOUT ROUND 1

The GETTRX Pro Stock Allstar Callout kicked off the second day of qualifying at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals. The first round of the specialty race also counts as qualifying runs for the eight drivers in the field.

Matt Hartford and Greg Stanfield opened the race within a race, and the defending Callout champion remained the one standing. Hartford 's 6.575 at 208.97 defeated Greg's 6.591 at 208.52.

Aaron Stanfield bested Eric Latino on a holeshot. Aaron left with a .027 reaction time and made a 6.611 at 208.78 mph pass. Meanwhile, Latino left the starting line with a .078 reaction time, and went on to record a 6.603 at 207.85 mph run. Earlier, Latino made a bold move by calling out Stanfield, and he paid a price for it.

The second-to-last pair was Dallas Glenn and Jeg Coughlin Jr. - the battle of JEGS and Summit Racing Equipment, as Glenn had put it during the Callout ceremony. Glenn lived up to his nickname of "Double-Oh Dallas" and was .008 on the Christmas Tree. Glenn then bested Coughlin's 6.597 at 208.78 with a 6.558 at 208.39.

The final pair delivered the drama that everyone was hoping for. Erica Enders defeated Greg Anderson on a holeshot. Enders left the starting line with a .022 while Anderson clocked a .057 reaction time. Enders then went to make a pass of 6.564 at 210.01 mph while Anderson crossed the finish line stripe with a 6.543 at 208.26 mph.

Glenn, being the quickest of the first four-round winners, earned the right to pick first and stated that the two young guns will have to go after it, meaning Aaron. This then left Enders and Hartford to duke it out in the semifinals.

TOP FUEL Q3

Shawn Reed opened Saturday’s nitro session with a great 3.751, the quickest pass of the weekend to take the provisional No. 1 spot, but the real drama came in the other lane where Tony Schumacher broke a rear-end. Unfortunately, that’s not the first time it’s happened to the Rick Ware team and it once again results in a lengthy clean-up that gave the Norwalk fans plenty of time to get the track’s famed $3 ice cream.

Once action resumed, so did the dramatic improvement in elapsed times. Billy Torrence was the next driver to tackle the right lane and made a solid 3.772-second run.

Spencer Massey joined the list of drivers I the 3.7s with a 3.793 in his RAD Torque Systems entry.

The top spot changed hands one pair later when Leah Pruett drove to a 3.731 which crew chief Neal Strasbaugh called “about what we thought it would run”, adding, “Not a chance,” when asked if it would hold up for the duration of the session.

Maddi Gordon didn’t claim the top spot, but she did re-set the Norwalk speed record with a 339.79 run, re-setting Millican’s day-old record.

MISSION #2Fast2Tasty Challenge

Shawn Langdon continued his domination of the 2026 season with a 3.696 at 339.70 mph to easily take out Tony Stewart’s otherwise competitive 3.751.

Langdon will face teammate Doug Kalitta in the final round after the reigning world champ defeated Antron Brown, 3.751 to a coasting 8.045. This will be the seventh Mission #2Fast2Tasty win for the Kalitta team.

FUNNY CAR Q3

After a couple of tire-smoking early shut offs, the Norwalk Funny Car field began to take shape when J.R. Todd and Bobby Bode ran 3.957 and 3.968 in the second pair. Bode’s run is significant because it gave us 15 cars in the three second zone with a bump spot of 4.13 by Jeff Arend. There has never been an all-three second field but if Arend can produce on in the final round of qualifying, history will be made.

Jack Beckman improved with a 3.916 while Chad Green ran 3.939, which is a good run, but is only good for the No. 9 spot at the moment.

Del Worsham did not improve on yesterday’s 3.934 with a 3.961, but his consistency is admirable, and the sort of thing that leads to round wins on race day.

Alexis DeJoria moved into the lead thanks to a very impressive 3.886 at 330.31 mph. DeJoria qualified No. 3 in Epping and No. 2 in Bristol, the two most recent events on the tour.

Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge

Austin Prock appeared to be back as the two-time and reigning champ defeated Matt Hagan, and did so with the best run of the event so far, a 3.963. Prock also set a new track speed record at 3.863 seconds.

Prock will have his work cut out for him in the final against Ron Capps, who used a 3.891 to stop Daniel Wilkerson. The race was close for a while, but Capps, pulled ahead after Wilkerson spun the tires.
