NHRA fans got to meet the stars of the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series at a Fanfest held Thursday night at the New York New York hotel/casino.

Among those signing autographs were the three Harley-Davidson riders, Eddie Krawiec, Angelle Sampey, and Andrew Hines

Top Fuel points leader Doug Kalitta and the Mac Tools team unloaded their hot rod for the start of qualifying.

All four classes in the Mello Yello Series are going four-wide this weekend, part of an unprecedented spectacle at LVMS.

Bob Tasca III and team warmed up their Auto Alert Mustang Funny Car prior to Q1.

Ron Capps, crew chief Rahn Tobler, and the NAPA Auto Parts team have won five times in Las Vegas but only once in the spring, a decade ago in 2009.

Roger Holder, second from bottom, won the four-wide Small Tire Shootout with his nitrous-assisted, Pat Musi-powered Camaro. Holder, a multi-time West Coast Hot Rod Association champion and winner of the Street Car Supernationals at LVMS, finished ahead of Josh Edwards, far lane, Ryan “Toaster” Jones, and Rachel Lee.

The amazing all-electric eCOPO of Patrick McCue and Jeff Lane blitzed the timers were a whipser-quiet but jaw-dropping 9.761 at 135 mph.

Pro Stock racer Chris McGaha found himself in the hot seat after his Camaro caught fire while backing up from the burnout in Q2. McGaha got out safely and the NHRA Safety Safari quickly extinguished the blaze.

The two-car Muy Caliente jet dragsters brought the crowd to its feet with their fire-burning, smoke-bellowing performances.
