Tricky Tipster: Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals presented by PowerEdge
The second half of the 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series begins this weekend at Sonoma Raceway with the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals presented by PowerEdge, the 11th of 20 events scheduled this season. This week, the PlayNHRA Favorites include Shawn Langdon, Ron Capps, and Dallas Glenn in Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock, respectively.
The Sonoma event will be part of the PlayNHRA initiative, where drag racing fans will once again have the opportunity to engage in fantasy games, gaming, and betting for this event. Betting markets feature Professional classes, where fans can wager on event winners, low elapsed time of the event, head-to-head matchups, and season champions.
Below are the opening odds as provided by Alt Sports Data.
(Note: In American sports betting, odds are typically expressed with a plus (+) or minus (–) symbol followed by a number. For example, +200 signifies the amount a bettor could win if wagering $100. If the bet works out, the player will receive a total payout of $300; $200 profit + $100 initial stake.)
TOP FUEL

Shawn Langdon is in the midst of perhaps the best season of his career as he has failed to reach the semifinals just once in 10 starts so far, and he’s got four wins and a 28-6 round-win record. That helps explain his role as the favorite this week with opening odds of +400, which means a $10 wager would return $50.00 should he win the event. Langdon is followed closely by his teammate, Doug Kalitta, who is priced at +550.
Rookie Maddi Gordon, the winner in Pomona, is also in the mix with odds of +800, along with Tony Stewart, Josh Hart, and Leah Pruett at +900 each.
Justin Ashley and Antron Brown, two drivers with previous success in Sonoma, open at +1000, while Billy Torrence has odds of +1100.
Should Jasmine Salinas claim her first win at her home track, bettors who took her at +1400 will be handsomely rewarded. Other long shots include Will Smith and Clay Millican (+1500), Shawn Reed (+1600), and Tony Schumacher (+2200).
