Hard on the heels of a very memorable NHRA Arizona Nationals in Phoenix, the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series heads to historic In-N-Out Pomona Dragstrip for this week’s Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals.

Last week, Shawn Langdon, Paul Lee, and Greg Anderson claimed wins in Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock, respectively. Langdon and Anderson both won after reaching the final in Gainesville, while Lee claimed a long-overdue first nitro Funny Car title.

The experts at Alt Sports Data have set the opening lines for this week’s event at In-N-Out Pomona Dragstrip, and they have chosen Antron Brown, Austin Prock, and Dallas Glenn as the early favorites.

Below are the opening odds as provided by Alt Sports Data.

(Note: In American sports betting, odds are typically expressed with a plus (+) or minus (–) symbol followed by a number. For example, +200 signifies the amount a bettor could win if wagering $100. If the bet works out, the player would receive a total payout of $300; $200 profit + $100 initial stake.)

TOP FUEL

Force

Gainesville winner Antron Brown is listed as the early favorite in Pomona, the same track where he clinched his fourth world title last November. Brown has four wins in Pomona, but all of them have come at the season-ending NHRA Finals held each November. After two events, Brown is ranked No. 2 in the Mission Foods standings, just 40 points behind leader Shawn Langdon. Brown’s opening odds are +550, which means a $10 bet would return $65.00.

Points leader and Phoenix winner Langdon is second at +650, while four-time world champion Steve Torrence opens at +700. Others who are ranked among the favorites include Justin Ashley, Doug Kalitta, and Brittany Force, who are all +750.

Among the more notable long shots is Jasmine Salinas, who has opened the season with back-to-back semifinals and can be had for an attractive price of +1,500.

FUNNY CAR

Prock

While he’s gone winless in his first two starts of the season, reigning NHRA Funny Car champion Austin Prock remains an overwhelming favorite with an opening price of +200, making him the biggest favorite of any of the three Pro categories. Prock has had arguably the best car at both events but has been unable to close the deal on race day, which helps justify his current odds.

After Prock, the order consists of Jack Beckman, Matt Hagan, Bob Tasca III, Ron Capps, and Chad Green. Beckman is +650, while Hagan and Tasca open at +900. Capps, Gainesville winner Green, and J.R. Todd are each more than 10-1 to claim the victory, offering value in the process.

The first two events of the season have been won by Chad Green and Paul Lee, two drivers who opened at better than 20-1. Will that trend continue?  If so, it might be wise to look at Bobby Bode (+2,200), Blake Alexander (+2,500), or Alexis DeJoria (+2,500).

PRO STOCK

JEg

With a win in Gainesville and a runner-up in Phoenix, Dallas Glenn maintains the top spot in Pro Stock at +400, while his teammate Greg Anderson, who also has a win and a runner-up, is close behind at +450.

Other pre-race favorites in Pro Stock include six-time champion Erica Enders at +650 and Aaron Stanfield at +800. Enders is off to a rough start in 2025 with a pair of round-one losses, but her JGH Camaro is still capable of running with the top cars in the class. The same goes for Stanfield, who is also among the best drivers in the category.

When it comes to long shots of 10-1 or greater, there are many to choose from, including up-and-coming Cory Reed at +1,000, five-time world champion Jeg Coughlin Jr. (+1,300), and Troy Coughlin Jr. and Matt Hartford, each priced at +1,500.

When it comes to a real darkhorse contender, it might be wise to look at Eric Latino, who comes to Pomona as the No. 5-ranked driver in the class. Latino reached the quarterfinals at the first two races and opened at +2,500, meaning a $10 wager would return $260.
