(Note: In American sports betting, odds are typically expressed with a plus (+) or minus (–) symbol followed by a number. For example, +200 signifies the amount a bettor could win if wagering $100. If the bet works out, the player would receive a total payout of $300 ($200 profit + $100 initial stake.)

TOP FUEL

Bristol bettors who picked Tony Schumacher were rewarded as the eight-time world champion pulled through as a double-digit underdog. Schumacher’s odds remain attractive this week as he looks to reach the final round for the third straight event and fourth time overall this season. As for the favorites, Justin Ashley, Steve Torrence, Doug Kalitta, and Shawn Langdon are the pre-race favorites.

FUNNY CAR

Austin Prock was the pre-race favorite in Bristol, and the John Force Racing driver came through with his third win of the season to extend his lead in the NHRA Mission Foods Funny Car standings. It should be no surprise that Prock is once again the favorite along with Virginia native Matt Hagan, John Force, and Ron Capps.

Jeg Coughlin Jr. also came through as a mid-pack longshot in Bristol as the five-time world champion cashed with an attractive pre-race price of  +1,200. Coughlin remains a mid-pack pick this week as Greg Anderson, Dallas Glenn, and Erica Enders are the pre-race favorites in a tough Pro Stock field.

PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE

Reigning world champ Gaige Herrera was a heavy favorite in Bristol and for good reason as the Vance & Hines rider remained unbeaten on the season and ran his winning streak to a record nine straight races. Herrera remains the only racer in any class with minus odds and will likely stay that way until someone steps up to beat him. That someone could easily be Matt Smith, Chase Van Sant, or Herrera’s own teammate, Richard Gadson, who seems to improve with each race.
