Eventual Funny Car world champion and Tony Stewart Racing wheeled out a special Operation Healing Forces wrap for the Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte, but it lasted just one run as the parachutes failed to deploy at the end of his opening pass.
The 3.941 run earned Hagan the No. 2 provisional qualifying position, but the the team had to move to its backup car for the rest of the race.
