Tony Stewart Racing unveiled a pair of striking Dodge Charger Super Bee and Purple Haze-themed race cars Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Stellantis North America headquarters, setting the stage for the inaugural Dodge NHRA Great Lakes Nationals presented by Mopar, Sept. 18-20 at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park.

Team owner Tony Stewart joined drivers Matt Hagan and Leah Pruett for the lunchtime reveal at the Chrysler Technology Center campus in Auburn Hills, Michigan where the cars were presented to an audience of media members and Stellantis employees under the watchful eye of the NHRA Safety Safari, and its Cummins-powered Ram 3500 trucks. 

Stewart, Hagan and Pruett also signed autographs and met with employees gathered around the 12,000-horsepower machines and inside the CTC Tower.

The special liveries celebrate the return of NHRA national-event racing to Michigan for the first time in 66 years while spotlighting the recently announced 600-horsepower 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee Launch Edition and Dodge’s limited-production Purple Haze exterior color.

“Dodge is bringing NHRA national-event racing back to Michigan for the first time in more than 60 years,” Dodge CEO Matt McAlear said. “With TSR, we’re also putting the spotlight on the recently announced SIXPACK-powered Charger Super Bee, the most power-dense muscle car ever, and Charger’s new Purple Haze color.”

Hagan’s Dodge Funny Car and Pruett’s Top Fuel dragster feature Purple Haze graphics, bold Super Bee branding and unmistakable Dodge attitude. Both cars will debut their new appearance when qualifying begins Friday in Martin.

“This Purple Haze color looks amazing on my TSR Dodge Funny Car,” said Hagan, a four-time world champion and the 2026 NHRA regular-season champion. “It will look so badass going down the track at the Martin, Mich., NHRA event. I just really want to put the Super Bee logo in the winner’s circle this weekend.”

Hagan has collected 58 NHRA victories — all in Funny Car and all behind the wheel of a Dodge — including wins this season at Pomona, Bristol and Brainerd.

Pruett, a 13-time NHRA Top Fuel winner, will pursue her second victory of the season after placing a Dodge-backed dragster in the winner’s circle at the New England Nationals.

“It’s very exciting to bring the Super Bee and popular Dodge Charger Purple Haze color livery to the inaugural Dodge Great Lakes Nationals,” Pruett said. “It would be so special to add the Purple Haze colors to our trophy case in the first NHRA national race in Michigan in 66 years.”

The production 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee Launch Edition will also be displayed on the manufacturers midway throughout the race weekend. Powered by a 600-horsepower SIXPACK engine, it is the quickest, fastest and most powerful SIXPACK Charger and the most powerful Dodge Super Bee ever produced.

Dodge and NHRA will continue the celebration Thursday, Sept. 17, with the NHRA Dodge Tour de Michigan. Open to Dodge owners and performance enthusiasts of all brands, the cruise will depart Stellantis headquarters in Auburn Hills at 7:30 a.m. and travel through Hell, Lansing and Grand Rapids before arriving at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park. Qualifying begins Friday at 1 p.m. EDT, with final eliminations scheduled for Sunday at 10:30 a.m. The eliminations broadcast will air Sunday at 2 p.m. EDT on FS1.
