Six drivers score Lucas Oil victories in St. Louis

In addition to the thrilling NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series action at the NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals, six drivers collected Wallys in NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series action at World Wide Technology Raceway.

Two-time Super Comp champ Christopher Dodd claimed his first win in Comp after stopping Scott Linder’s quick A/Altered in the final. Dodd won with an 8.286 after Linder slowed.

Jimmy Hidalgo Jr. is back in the running for a third world title after claiming the Super Stock win against Jacob Delaune in an all-Louisiana final. Hidalgo was merciless with a .004 light and a 9.359 on his 9.29 dial.

The Stock final featured a heads-up, no-breakout battle between the AA/S Corvettes of Johnny Diekema and Brett Saurbaugh. Diekema left first and won 9.719 to 9.837.

The Super Comp final between James Glenn and Michael Holcombe was one of the best races of the weekend, with Glenn taking the 8.903 to 8.908 victory.

After a runner-up at the Norwalk divisional, Kris Whitfield earned his first 75th anniversary NHRA diamond Wally with a close 9.905 to 9.910 win over Todd Pullen in the Super Gas final.

In addition to his semifinal finish in Super Comp, Luke Bogacki turned on the win light in the final of Right Trailers Top Dragster with a 6.806 on his 6.79 dial to beat Alaia Isenhower, who broke out by .018-second.
