Pat LaMont wins Holley Never Rest Award in return to competition in Chicago
Super Comp racer Pat LaMont made his return to action for the first time since a cancer diagnosis late last year and won the Holley EFI Never Rest Award at the Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by Peak for his perseverance.
The Lake Villa, Ill., racer was diagnosed with Stage 4 bladder cancer in October 2025 and has undergone many rounds of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation treatments over the last seven months (and continuing). The Route 66 NHRA Nationals was his return to the sport, and he made it a memorable one, going to the fourth round in Super Comp eliminations, while his son, Chad, went on to runner-up honors.
