There is nothing like Halloween in Las Vegas especially when it also includes the Mopar NHRA Nevada Nationals powered by Dodge. Today, qualifying continues for the penultimate event of the 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing season, and it’s safe to expect the unexpected.

Rain interrupted Friday’s activities, but it wasn’t enough to prevent NHRA pros from getting both of their scheduled qualifying runs. Incoming Top Fuel points leader Shawn Langdon extended his lead over the rest of the field with a strong 3.672 to earn additional qualifying bonus points. Langdon is one of four drivers in the 3.6s along with Tony Stewart, Josh Hart, and defending champ Doug Kalitta.

Currently, it takes a 3.728-second run to make the top half of the field and there are 17 drivers contending for just 16 available qualifying spots.

The Funny Car class has been wide open this season and the Las Vegas event is no different. After two runs, there are 12 drivers in the three-second zone but no one is quicker than Jack Beckman, who made the quickest run of the season with a 3.836 to  lead second-ranked Alexis DeJoria by nearly four hundredths.

The battle for the Funny Car title is also center stage with several drivers still within striking distance of leader Matt Hagan, who is seeking a fifth title. Hagan entered the Las Vegas event leading Jordan Vandergriff by 98 points while J.R. Todd, Austin Prock, and Beckman are within striking distance.

Pro Stock continues to be hotly contested with as many as five drivers contending for the title. Matt Hartford is one of those drivers and he presently leads the field after a 6.632 second run on Friday. The top half of the field also includes Matt Latino, Greg Stanfield, Eric Latino, Erica Enders, Greg Anderson, Deric Kramer, and Troy Coughlin Jr.

One driver who bears watching today is defending world champ Dallas Glenn, who is the points leader, but comes into Saturday as the 10th ranked driver in the field.

The battle for the Pro Stock Motorcycle title remains a three-horse race between leader and defending champ Richard Gadson, his teammate Gaige Herrera, and Matt Smith. Herrera was quickest on Friday with a 6.835 while Gadson is close behind at 6.841. Smith is currently lurking in sixth place.

The Las Vegas race also features the JBS Pro Mod Series, a full roster of Lucas Oil Drag Racing series categories, as well as the Summit Racing Equipment E.T. Racing National Finals.
