Top Fuel team owner and driver Shawn Reed is determined to make the best of the remaining 2024 season and has secured Global Emissions Systems Inc. (also known as GESi) as a partner for his Top Fuel team for the remaining two NHRA national events, in Las Vegas and Pomona.

“I was fortunate to be introduced to Eric [Latino, president of GESi] through a common acquaintance in the NHRA,” said Reed. “Both of us have a lot in common, such as our passion for drag racing, him in his Pro Stock car and me in my nitro car, in addition to what we do outside of the racetrack. As the owner of Reed Trucking & Excavating, we are forced to meet strict emission requirements with our trucks and off-road equipment, and GESi does all that for my company, and we are proud to support and promote all GESi products.”

Said Latino, “Every race team in this parking lot has an emission device on their truck and trailers that will ultimately fail one day, and I want to be your partner when looking to replace these after-treatment systems. We have partnered with NHRA in the past, as racing and diesel commercial vehicles go hand in hand. For 25 years, Global Emission Systems has focused on the research and development of advanced emission reduction technologies, and DPFXFIT brings to market a complete line of aftermarket diesel particulate filters and diesel oxidation catalysts, designed as an exact fit OEM replacement with all makes and coverage for light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks.”

As Reed reflects on his first full NHRA season and his ability to run his career-best e.t. and speed (3.676 at 330.71mph – Charlotte 2), the efforts outside of the racetrack are what he is most proud of.

“The successes we experience on the racetrack have to run parallel to the successes we experience off of the racetrack,” Reed said. “Without innovative partnerships like the one we have with GESi, our racing program would not be able to sustain the pressures and financial obligations that come with competing in this elite Top Fuel class.”
