Seven Lucas Oil Sportsman winners crowned at NHRA Arizona Nationals

Race three of the 2024 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series national event competition took place at the NHRA Arizona Nationals, where winners were crowned in seven classes.

Race three of the 2024 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series national event competition took place at the NHRA Arizona Nationals, where winners were crowned in seven classes.

A pair of world champions went to battle in the Super Stock final where Ryan McClanahan got the best of Brad Burton thanks to an almost perfect run that included a .004 light and a 9.471 on his 9.47 dial. McClanahan now has 12 wins, including three in Phoenix. [video]
 
Tony Marconi collected his first NHRA national event title following a win over Mike Cotten in an all-Mopar Stock final. Marconi left first and drove to a 10.927 on his 10.89 dial for the win. [video]

Madison Payne, a two-time national event winner in Top Alcohol Dragster, showed her versatility with a Super Comp victory in Phoenix. Payne got a free pass in the final after Tim Parker broke. [video]

Evan Kowalski bagged his fifth national event win, all of them in Super Gas, when he took out John Dexter in a 9.92 to 9.96 final round. [video]

Keith Manogue has now won three NHRA national event titles and all of them have come in his home state of Arizona. Manogue, the 1999 and 2006 Phoenix champ, scored a 10.892 to 10.856 double-breakout win in Super Street against Matthew Bong. [video]

The 2024 Right Trailers Top Dragster final was a repeat of 2023 with drag racing school instructor Thomas Bayer taking his second-straight win against Dylan Hough. Bayer won his 12th career title with a 6.151 against his 6.14 dial. [video]
 
Allen Firestone picked up his fourth NHRA title when he defeated Brian Warr in the Right Trailers Top Sportsman final. Warr gained a sizable lead at the start, but broke out by .005-second, allowing Firestone to win with a 6.420 on his 6.40 dial.  [video]
