In a move set to put his Snap-on Makers and Fixers Dodge Hellcat team on a focused, stable path to the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Funny Car championship, Cruz Pedregon has announced the re-signing of crew chief Jason Bunker to a multiyear deal.

The team, which has battled back into the Top 10 in points, has its sights set on gaining momentum into the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season.

“It has been a very productive year working with Jason. Putting together a solid combination and implementing it with a new, young, and motivated team is a forward-looking move that is exciting for me as a driver and our racing program as a whole. Jason and these team members are the up-and-coming big names of our sport, with their immense talent and work ethic being primary motivators. It is the right next step for our program to retain Jason as we continue to work together in elevating our program to championship form," said Pedregon, owner and two-time NHRA Nitro Funny Car world champion.

Bunker, a Northern California native, has a passion that complements the entire team. He has been involved with drag racing since he was a teenager and has prior experience in Pro Modified, Nostalgia Funny Car, Top Fuel, and Nitro Funny Car Series.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue working with everyone at Cruz Pedregon Racing. Investing my time and energy into this program has been extremely rewarding on many different levels. It’s energizing to continue to lead this group of individuals, and we look forward to adding to the foundation we have created for years to come,” said Bunker.

Cruz Pedregon Racing will also add Mathew Archer as assistant crew chief and International Drag Racing Hall of Fame inductee Lee Beard in a consulting role to the Snap-on Makers and Fixers Dodge SRT Hellcat team. With more than two decades of experience in and around drag racing that included stints at John Force Racing and Don Schumacher Racing, Archer looks to add his expertise to Cruz’s team for the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series.
