Mexico's Juan Cantú will make Top Alcohol Dragster at Las Vegas four-wide
Monterrey, Mexico’s Juan "El Árabe" Cantú will compete in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway April 12-14.
It’s taken Cantú, a former jet dragster driver, six years to fulfill his dream of competing at the event and will be carrying the flag of El Árabe Racing Team by Compass Blue.
"I’m happy for this opportunity to race in this great event,” he said. “It started six years ago when I raced the jet dragster in the United States, and this dream continues. I’m hoping after this to have more races in the year and thinking about getting into Top Fuel and becoming the first Mexican to do so.
"[I got licensed] in April last year, and it went very well, that's when we set our goal to race in the United States, something we will accomplish thanks to the support of Compass Blue and, of course, Rich McPhillips, who gives me the opportunity to race the McPhillips Racing car.”
