Laris Motorsports Insurance Cajun NHRA SPORTSnationals postponed to May 3-5
Due to inclement weather conditions, the Laris Motorsports Insurance Cajun NHRA SPORTSnationals has been postponed to May 3-5 at No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, La.
The prestigious race for drivers in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series was initially scheduled for this weekend, but recent weather and the pending upcoming weekend conditions led to the postponement until May to allow for a better racer experience.
“The Cajun SPORTSnationals and No Problem Raceway are committed to giving our racers the best possible experience, both on and off the track,” No Problem Raceway Owner Nelson Hoyos said. “Unfortunately, Mother Nature isn’t cooperating this weekend, but we look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Bayou on May 3-5 for a one-of-kind event.”
The Laris Motorsports Insurance Cajun NHRA SPORTSnationals gives racers a second SPORTSnationals event in 2024, with the JEGS SPORTSnationals taking place on July 10-11. The event will offer more than $150,000 to race teams in eight different categories from all seven NHRA divisions, which includes more than $50,000 in contingency offerings. Competitors will also be able to enjoy a unique atmosphere that will celebrate all the exciting distinctions of Cajun culture.
“We’re very excited to bring this event back and offer an incredible experience for our race teams. With that in mind, we felt it was important to shift the date to May with the potential for inclement weather this weekend,” NHRA Senior Manager of Sportsman Racing Sara Walker said. “We want to make this is a memorable weekend for our race teams and a successful event for the track, and we look forward to having a great Cajun NHRA SPORTSnationals in May.”
Other must-see items in May will include the Right Trailers Top Sportsman and Top Dragster Shootouts, Motorcycle Gambler, Super Shootouts, and more. A Cajun NHRA SPORTSnationals victory has always held significant prestige, with winners receiving a one-of-a-kind copper Wally. The event will also be streamed for free on NHRA.tv and the NHRA YouTube page.
