Not the least bit afraid of a bit of healthy competition, Erica Enders made a bold move when she called out longtime rival Greg Anderson for the first round of the GETTRX Pro Stock NHRA Allstar Callout, a high stakes bonus race that will be held on Saturday at the Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals.

As the top seed in the event, Enders had her choice of any of the seven remaining opponents and she went right for the jugular, picking championship leader and 105-time national event winner Anderson in a bold “lets get this out of the way early” moment.

"You’d think the strategy would be to pick a lower performing car than we did but our motto has always kind of been go big or go home," said Enders. "It was 12 years ago at this event that I got my first win and it was against him. He was my only competitor that made me different. He said, ‘I don’t want to be the one to lose to her.’ So, it was very fitting that I got my first win with him in the other lane. We’ve battled throughout the years. I’ll say it again, to be the best you have to beat the best. Over the last 10 years we’ve gone back and forth with world championships, national event wins. We’ve loved each other, we’ve hated each other, we’ve had respect for each other, we’ve lost it and a lot of that plays into the decision, so here we go.

The Enders vs. Anderson race will be a rematch of their memorable 2012 final round at Route 66 Raceway where Enders earned her first professional victory.

After Enders made her selection, defending Route 66 winner Dallas Glenn picked Troy Coughlin Jr. and Aaron Stanfield choose Matt Hartford, leaving Cristian Cuadra and Deric Kramer as the final pair. As many had predicted, each of four match-ups features one member of the Elite team and one member of the rival KB Titan organization.

The opening round of the NHRA Pro Stock All-Star Callout takes place at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, followed by the semifinals at 1:45 p.m. and the final round at 2:55 p.m. A special broadcast highlighting the Callout takes place from 7-8:30 p.m. ET on FS1.

The winning driver who makes the quickest run in the opening round will select their semifinal opponent, with a big purse and major bragging rights on the line in the finals.
