Nightfire Nationals

Idaho’s largest motorsport’s event, the 51st Annual Nightfire Nationals presented by Bi-Mart returns to Firebird Raceway on Friday and Sunday, August 5-7.

The track’s “signature nitro event” will feature an impressive field of AA/Funny Cars, AA/Fuel Altereds, AA/Fuel Dragsters, and more throughout the three-day and -night event. The Nightfire is a key points stop for AA/FC and AA/FD in the 2022 NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series.

The Nitro Funny Car field will be led by defending NHRA Heritage Series national champ and reigning Nightfire winner Bobby Cottrell and the Austin & O’Brien “Northwest Hitter” team. In Top Fuel, the current point’s leader, Tyler Hilton will be making the long-distance tow from Cincinnati, Ohio. Defending Nightfire champion Nick Van Horn will also lead a large entry roster of AA/Fuel Altereds, too.

In addition, nightly exhibition runs will also take place by Ed “the Outlaw” Jones and his amazing wheelstanding Stagecoach, along with a pair of 280-mph jet cars that will close out the show each evening.

Professional qualifying will take place at 8 pm on Aug. 5; 2 pm and 8 pm on Aug. 6, and championship finals starting at noon on Sun., Aug. 7.
