Kalitta Motorsports and longtime sponsor DHL Express are partnering to accelerate hunger relief and help those who need it most — working families, children, and the elderly. Together, they are working with Feeding America, the largest charity working to end hunger in the United States, to help in a race to end food insecurity with the "Drive For Purpose Challenge."

During four NHRA national events in September (Charlotte and St. Louis) and October (Dallas and Las Vegas), Kalitta Motorsports will be donating $1,000 for every win light on race day that Doug Kalitta, Shawn Langdon, and J.R. Todd earn, with DHL matching each donation with another $1,000. This combined monetary donation will be the equivalent of 20,000 meals per win light for Feeding America.

“We are proud to partner with a company like DHL that makes it a priority to give back to the local communities across the country and around the world,” said Chad Head, Kalitta Motorsports general manager. “Feeding America has been doing amazing work for many years, and we are hoping every win light we turn on [on race day] will get us closer to ending food insecurity and [helping] as many people as possible. We hope that everyone in the NHRA community will look to see how that can also help Feeding America as well.”

September is Hunger Action Month, and every $1 raised through the "Drive For Purpose Challenge" will provide at least 10 meals for people in need of food assistance. There were tens of millions of people in America facing hunger before the pandemic, and that is still true today. Thirty-eight million people, including nearly 12 million children, are food insecure, meaning they may not know where their next meal will come from. This equates to 1 in 8 people and 1 in 6 children. This partnership to support hunger relief nationwide is part of DHL’s sole purpose of connecting people and improving lives, which guides all the company’s efforts and operations, underscoring its values and mission to ultimately better society.

“Hunger remains a major challenge for so many people, which is why we are pleased to partner with Kalitta Motorsports and Feeding America to support the millions of families facing food insecurity across the country,” said Chet Paul, SVP, Commercial, DHL Express U.S. “No one should wonder where their next meal will come from.  That’s why helping families and individuals in the communities where we live and work is so essential to the purposeful work we do at DHL, as we aim to connect people and improve lives.”

During the "Drive For Purpose Challenge," Kalitta Motorsports will also be actively engaging with the NHRA community through social media posts, race reports, and at-track promotions. Click here for more information on the "Drive For Purpose Challenge."
