Western Technical College will be the presenting sponsor of the NHRA Youth and Education Services (YES) Program, signing in a three-year agreement to back the popular education-based program.

Western Tech, based in El Paso, Texas, has a long history with NHRA. Dating back to 2013 when Western Tech began working with NHRA super team Don Schumacher Racing, students have received hands-on training in the racing field and later have gone on to become crewmembers amongst many successful NHRA teams.

The NHRA YES Program is the only full-time education program in motorsports providing quality educational content and activities for schools and youth organizations nationwide. The YES Program invites students to NHRA national events to see first-hand the career opportunities within the motorsports field.

“The NHRA YES Program opens the door to the endless career opportunities for the next generation of technicians in the automotive and motorsports industries,” said Brad Kuykendall, Western Tech’s CEO. “As partners in education, we are capable of inspiring young people to achieve excellence as they prepare for their own future, and that’s what Western Tech is all about. The NHRA YES Program is an excellent platform for introducing the next generation of technicians and performance enthusiasts to the NHRA, championship drivers, automotive industry leaders, and Western Technical College. Western Tech is proud to be a part of this wonderful program, and we are looking forward to an exciting and fulfilling partnership.”

“We are thrilled to bring Western Tech on as the presenting sponsor of the NHRA YES Program,” NHRA Vice President and Chief Development Officer Brad Gerber. “The YES Program allows students from across the country to see the career options in the motorsports world, and Western Tech is a great avenue to hone the skills needed for a successful career in the field.”
