Daily Cacklefests part of the action at this weekend's Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals

NHRA race fans attending the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd Int’l Raceway will get to enjoy a slice of the sport's past along with the present with the staging of daily Cacklefests in the midway.

Among those taking part will be the Calvstrand & Edstrom entry, reportedly the First Top Fuel car ever down Brainerd track, and Gabe Gabrielson’s Still Stupid injected dragster (reportedly the first car of any kind to ever go down the track).

Fans will allow see Funny Cars, blown altereds and dragsters, and Richard Charbonneau’s famed Ford station wagon Stocker.

The first Cacklefest will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Friday followed by a 3;15 p.m. show on Saturday and a noon cackle on Sunday.

NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series qualifying will feature one round at 6:30 p.m. CT on Friday, Aug. 20, and the final two rounds of qualifying on Saturday, Aug. 21 at 2 and 5:15 p.m. Final eliminations are scheduled for 11 a.m. CT on Sunday, Aug. 22. Television coverage includes qualifying action on FS1 at 7 p.m. ET on Friday and then eliminations action at 3 p.m. on FOX on Sunday.
