Newly licensed Pro Modified driver Luis De Leon will make his NHRA debut this weekend in the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Modified Series presented by J&A Service at the AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals at Texas Motorplex, piloting the 2018 Imperial Construction Chevrolet Corvette owned by PJS Racing.

“I am very excited for this opportunity,” De Leon said. “We stayed after the St. Louis national event last week to make the passes I needed to get my Pro Mod license. I drove all three team cars back to back and made eight total runs. The car is different than what I am use to!”

De Leon will drive Jeff Jones’ Imperial Construction Chevrolet Corvette due to Jones’ prior commitment to entertaining Imperial Construction’s clients at the national event. De Leon has worked closely with PJS co-owner and crew chief Brandon Pesz for the last two years.

“I came to the U.S. from Brazil five years ago,” the co-owner of FuelTech USA said. “I began working with Brandon two years ago through my company, since they were the only team running electronic fuel injection on a blower engine. We make ECUs with built-in dashboards and data acquisition for jet skis, motorcycles, road racing, drag racing -- you name it, we have a product that will fit you.”

The FuelTech USA co-owner and Georgia resident could not be more appreciative for this weekend’s opportunity.

“I want to give a really special thanks to Founder of FuelTech, Anderson Dick. He has always supported me in pursuing my driving career. I’d also like to thank my wife and Marketing Coordinator of FuelTech, Nathalia De Leon, and, finally, Jeff Jones and Brandon Pesz for giving me this opportunity. Without these people, this opportunity would be impossible.”
