Osage Tulsa Raceway Park will host the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League Western Conference Finals presented by CatSpot June 23-28. NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League racers from across the United States, ages 6 to 17 years, will compete for team and individual honors and a share of the event purse.

Teams of drivers in eight age categories drive half-scale dragsters powered by five-horsepower engines that may reach speeds up to 85 mph. They can cover the eighth-mile track in as quick as 7.90 seconds.

Each of the ten members of the Team Champions at the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing Western Conference Finals event will receive the coveted NHRA Wally trophy. Individual champions will each earn $1,500 along with a NHRA Wally trophy and champions jacket. Recipients of special awards including Best Appearing Car, Coolest Car, Team Spirit, Best Appearing Theme and Best Appearing Track will take home a custom acrylic “Wally” trophy available only to JDRL participants.

“The participants in the Jr. Drag Racing League are the future of this sport,” said NHRA President Glen Cromwell. “Seeing these young men and women come out to the track with their families is always a treat. They are learning valuable life skills like sportsmanship, critical thinking and perseverance while having a great time.”

Additionally, Tommy Thompson Motorsports announced that presenting sponsor CatSpot is hosting a special race on Wednesday afternoon for the Jr. Pro (ages 10-17 years) and Jr. Sportsman (ages 6-9 years) categories.

“This is very exciting news for our Jr. Dragster racers,” said Todd Martin of Osage Casino Hotel Tulsa Raceway Park. “We are very appreciative of Mr. Thompson and CatSpot for their sponsorship and support of this event.”

This year’s event will continue in its tradition of competitive racing, fun events, parties and prize giveaways
