Chris Power scores Mountain Motor Pro Stock victory at NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals
Chris Powers picked up the win in the first-ever Four-Wide Mountain Motor Pro Stock exhibition over PDRA champ Steven Boone, Todd Hoerner, and Dwayne Rice, who was a no show. Powers ran a 6.417 to cover Hoerner's quicker 6.373. Boone finished with a 6.643.
John DeFlorian won the previous Mountain Motor Pro Stock race, contested in Houston, but he fell in the semifinals. Vincent Nobile and Alex Laughlin, both Pro Stock veterans, featured in the category and bowed out in the semi's. Nobile's father, John Nobile, is a longtime Mountain Motor Pro Stock racer.
Mountain Motor Pro Stock will return at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol in mid-June before wrapping up its four-race tour at the NHRA New England Nationals in Epping on July 4th weekend.
