The Real Pro Mod Association (RPM) has been named the presenting sponsor for the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by J&A Service portion of this weekend’s AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park. It is the ninth of 12 races during the 2018 E3 Spark Plugs Pro Mod Drag Racing Series season.

In St. Louis, the talented drivers in the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by J&A Service will look to put on an impressive show as the season hits crunch time. Featuring a lineup of more than 30 ultra-skilled drivers for this weekend’s event, the class offers something unique for every kind of hot-rodding enthusiast. It is highlighted by historic muscle cars like the ’67 Mustang, ’68 Firebird and ’69 Camaro, as well as a variety of late model American muscle cars. Producing more than 3,000 horsepower, the suspended door pro mod cars travel the quarter-mile in less than six seconds at speeds of more than 250 mph.

The RPM Association was created by Pro Mod team owners and drivers to preserve and promote the future of the category, helping fuel strong participation and interest in the class, something that has been evident during the 12-race, 2018 E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by J&A Service season. Three-time world champion Rickie Smith and Mike Janis are currently tied for the points lead, while other season winners include Stevie “Fast” Jackson, who won the most recent race in Indy, Jim Whiteley, Jose Gonzalez and Khalid AlBalooshi. Other top competitors include rookie Chad Green, Mike Castellana, Todd Tutterow, Bob Rahaim, and Danny Rowe. All 12 races during the 2018 season will air on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) and FOX Sports 2 (FS2).

“We’re always thrilled to return to St. Louis, where the Pro Mod class has always put on an incredible show in front of a great fanbase,” said John Waldie of the Real Pro Mod Association. “The 2018 season just continues to get more exciting and we’ve already had six different winners this year. The competition is at an all-time high and all three power-adders have won an event, which further shows the parity in the class. Now heading into the final four events of the 2018 season, I’m confident we’re going to see some remarkable action to close out the year.”
