Denso extends multi-year title sponsorship for NHRA Las Vegas four-wide event
Denso Products and Services Americas, Inc., an affiliate of leading Denso automotive supplier Denso Corp., has announced that it will continue to serve as the title sponsor of the Denso Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals, one of the premier events on the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series circuit. The event is held each year at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, with the next competition scheduled for April 5-7, 2019.
Denso’s involvement with NHRA Championship Drag Racing goes beyond the title sponsorship for this event. The organization also created the Denso Spark Plugs 200 MPH Club for racers in the Pro Stock Motorcycle category. The program honors the first four facers in the two-wheel division who surpass the 200-mph barrier. Two drivers, Hector Arana Jr. and Eddie Krawiec, have accomplished this achievement so far this year.
“Denso’s multi-year commitment celebrates the tremendous relationships we have with the NHRA, the competitors and the fans,” said Joseph Mejaly, senior vice president of Operations, Sales, Strategic Planning and Marketing at Denso Products and Services Americas. “Every contest is an electrifying display of skill, talent and grit, the same forces that drive Denso’s commitment to excellence in our products.”
“2018 was the first year we brought the intensity of four-wide racing out west with the Denso Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals,” said Brad Gerber, vice president and chief development officer at NHRA. “The event was a great success and we are so glad that Denso is continuing this title sponsorship. The fans love to see four-wide racing and Denso’s support is integral to creating a one-of-a-kind experience.”
