Tickets on sale for 2018 Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals
Tickets for the 30th annual Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minties are on sale now to the general public for the event taking place May 18-20 at Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, Kan.
The adrenaline-filled event marks the eighth of 24 events in the 2018 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season and the event provides jaw dropping records as the teams get top performance from their machines. In 2017 Funny Car racer Matt Hagan set both ends of the track record with his impressive performance with a pass of 3.802-seconds and an incredible speed of 338.85. Brittany Force raced her Top Fuel dragster to a national record for speed at 333.66 during the weekend as well.
Last season Antron Brown (Top Fuel), Ron Capps (Funny Car), and Tanner Gray (Pro Stock) enjoyed victories at the record-setting motorsports facility.
The event also will feature thrilling competition in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series as well as the Mickey Thompson Tires Top Fuel Harley Drag Racing Series. The E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by J&A Service will make its fourth of 12 stops in 2018 at Heartland Motorsports Park.
As always, fans will have the opportunity to interact with their favorite drivers as they’re granted an exclusive pit pass to the most powerful and sensory-filled motorsports attraction on the planet. This unique opportunity in motorsports gives fans direct access to the teams, allowing them to see firsthand the highly-skilled mechanics service their hot rods between rounds, and get autographs from their favorite NHRA drivers.
Attendees will also want to visit NHRA’s popular Nitro Alley and Manufacturers Midway, where sponsors and race vendors create a carnival atmosphere, with interactive displays, simulated competitions, merchandise, food and fun for the entire family.
Mello Yello Drag Racing Series qualifying will feature two rounds on May 18 and two on May 19, with final eliminations scheduled for 11 a.m. on May 20.
