Steve Torrence scored his fourth win of the 2020 season in Top Fuel, beating father Billy in front of his home-state fans at the AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals to expand his points lead heading into the final two events of the season,

Don Schumacher Racing’s 12th straight win was assured when both Matt Hagan and Jack Beckman reached the final round, and Beckman closed the gap on his points-leading teammate by winning the final round. 

Matt Hartford stopped points leader Erica Enders in the semifinals and defending event champ Greg Anderson ion the final round to take home the Pro Stock Wally at the AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals.

Jerry Savoie continued his love affair with Texas Motorplex, scoring the Pro Stock Motorcycle title at the AAA Texas FallNationals for the third time in the last six years, defeating first-time finalist Joey Gladstone for the title.

If not for a narrow loss to Chris Holbrook at the first event of the season, Aaron Stanfield might well be undefeated in the SAM Tech.edu Factory Stock Showdown in 2020.

Alexis DeJoria rode out a major fire after winning her first-round Funny Car race with Gary Densham at the AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals. DeJoria emerged unscathed and her team immediately began getting its backup car ready.

Karen Stoffer had already qualified for the 2019 Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship, but was still hunting for her first win when she paired off with Andrew Hines at the NHRA Midwest Nationals.

In 2019 Billy Torrence dominated every time he showed up to race, and went on to beat his son, defending world champion Steve Torrence, to capture his fourth win in his sixth final. There is parity throughout almost every professional class in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing series but occasionally, some racers are capable of dominant performances. Matt Smith is one of those racers and his latest victory at the Amalie Motor Oil Gatornationals will go down as one of his most impressive performances.

Other than a semifinal finish in Phoenix, Alex Laughlin hasn’t had much to cheer about this season in Pro Stock but he was able to put the slow start behind him in Gainesville by beating Aaron Stanfield in a final round match-up between Elite Performance teammates.
