There's a lot going on at the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com, and not all of it is happening on the racetrack. 

Snow-capped mountains behind Auto Club Raceway at Pomona are giving the Winternationals an appropriate backdrop.

Top Alcohol Dragster racer James Stevens was involved in an on-track incident during the first round of eliminations. Stevens’ dragster went into the sand trap and net. Stevens was standing on his own and speaking with safety officials on site. He was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
