The Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals continues on Saturday with qualifying in Top Fuel, Funny Car, E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Modified, SAMTech Factory Stock Showdown, Mickey Thompson Top Fuel Harley and Lucas Oil Sportsman drag racing .

Yesterday, reigning nitro champions Steve Torrence and J.R. Todd were the quickest drivers in Top Fuel and Funny  Car, respectively. There will be two more sessions today in order to set the pairings for tomorrow's final eliminations.

Professional qualifying rounds are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. Central Time. The complete schedule is available here.

In addition to Torrence and Todd, Friday's leaders included Khalid alBalooshi in Pro Mod, Bob Malloy in Top Fuel Harley-Davidson, and Chris Holbrook in the SAM Tech.edu Factory Stock Showdown. Saturday's on-track action will also include qualifying and eliminations in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series sportsman categories including Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car.
