The annual NHRA Western Swing, which includes stops in Denver, Sonoma, and Seattle, kicks off this weekend with the Dodge NHRA Mile-High Nationals presented by Pennzoil at scenic Bandimere Speedway. Friday features a full day of qualifying beginning with Sportsman racing at 10 a.m. and wraps up with a pair of professional qualifying sessions scheduled for 4:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

The event features action in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle, as racers continued to jockey for spots in the upcoming Countdown to the Championship.

The defending event winners in the pro classes are Leah Pritchett (Top Fuel), John Force (Funny Car), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock), and Hector Arana Jr. (Pro Stock Motorcycle). Arana has won three races since last July, but Pritchett, Force, and Anderson are winless in the last year. Pritchett does have three wins in the SAMTech.edu Factory Stock Showdown category. Force is also worth watching as he seeks to end his year-long pursuit of milestone victory No. 150.

You can catch the first FS1 television broadcast, Friday Nitro Live, at 7 p.m. Eastern. All the action is broadcast live on NHRA.tv, and the full TV schedule is available here at any time.

Whether you’re in Pomona, Indianapolis, or anywhere else around the world, you can follow NHRA on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to get a closer look at the action.
