2016 Super Stock champion Jimmy DeFrank
For the fifth time in his storied career, DeFrank was crowned the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series national champion in Super Stock. Driving his California Car Cover entry, DeFrank began the season with a victory at the Circle K NHRA Winternationals in Pomona and never looked back. He finished the year with three wins and a pair of runner-up finishes for a total of 681 points, nearly 100 more than his closest rival for the title.
