National Dragster season preview, big-news interviews and features kick off 2026

The January 2026 issue of NHRA National Dragster magazine, the annual Season Preview, is now online in digital format and in the mail in its traditional print format to NHRA Members around the world.
The first issue of the NHRA’s 75th Anniversary season takes a hard look at the four NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series classes — Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle — analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the pack and weighing whether 2025’s champs can repeat or if someone will steal their crowns.
After a tumultuous offseason, the issue tracks the biggest winter movements in a Silly Season recap of the year’s biggest changes among drivers, teams, and sponsors.
The biggest shocker of the offseason was Austin Prock’s departure from John Force’s operation, and the issue has in-depth interviews with both, discussing not only what went into that scenario but where both go from there. The interview with drag racing legend Force is the first major print interview he has given since his June 2024 accident and discusses the reasons behind his retirement announcement last November and his ongoing love for the sport.
The issue’s cover subjects, Top Fuel rookie Maddi Gordon and her team owner, three-time Funny Car world champ Ron Capps, talk candidly about the road that got them to their headline-making announcement, the crazy twists and turns of sponsorship, and their plans and hopes for the season ahead.
National Dragster columnists Brian Lohnes and Luke Bogacki each explore some fertile ground with Lohnes’s “Unsolicited Opinions” column offering an excited “what-to-expect” article about the new Chasing Speed docuseries, and three-time world champ Bogacki’s “The Science of Winning” shares advice that racers should know when they set goals for the new season.
The monthly Racing Technology takes a look at racing safety, offering practical tips and watchwords for racers as the season beckons.
There’s also an overview of NHRA's 75th Anniversary season features, coverage from a trio of divisional banquets, and much more in the first issue of 2026.
