The teams of Doug Kalitta, Austin Prock, Greg Anderson, and Gaige Herrera were named the winners of the NHRA Crew of the Year presented by Red Line Oil. The winners were announced as part of the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Awards Ceremony.

The award is given to a full-time team in each Professional category and is based on a number of statistical categories, including average qualifying elapsed time, average eliminations e.t., percentage of full-throttle runs, and average points per race. Bonus points were awarded for No. 1 qualifiers and points deducted for any oildown violations and failure to stage due to mechanical issues.

Kalitta’s Alan Johnson-led Mac Tools/Kalitta Motorsports Top Fuel team ranked first in every statistical category and had no oildowns nor mechanical failures prior to staging.

The Cornwell Quality Tools Chevrolet team of Austin Prock, led by his father, Jimmy, had the most No. 1 qualifying efforts (seven) and finished first in average points per race, and tracked second in average qualifying position (behind teammate Jack Beckman) and average elimination e.t. and completed runs (behind Matt Hagan), and had just one oildown.

Anderson’s KB Titan/HendrickCars.com team, led by Rob Downing, led in average qualifying e.t. and No. 1 qualifying spots (eight) and finished second in average eliminations e.t. and completed-run average and had no oildowns or mechanical problems on the line.

Herrera’s RevZilla/Motul/Vance & Hines Suzuki squad, led by Andrew Hines, was tops in all performance-related categories and had no oildowns or mechanical issues.

The award was tracked over the course of the season, with the top three teams in each Professional category (Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle) showcased at the awards ceremony.
