Drag racing might seem to be limited in stats compared to stick and ball sports like baseball, but NHRA on FOX producer Pete Richards keeps detailed statistics across many categories over the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season, tracking traditional stats like reaction-time average and other more complex metrics like full-run completion and more.
Here's a look at the leaders in many of the statistical categories in Top Fuel.
EVENT WINS The difference between Doug Kalitta winning the championship and Justin Ashley not is told in probably early rounds. Ashley failed to reach at least the semifinals 10 times, while Kalitta lost first or second round only seven times. Cool to see nine winners in 19 events. | |
