Great moments in Houston history
Erica Enders’ first national event win

Erica Enders practically grew up at Houston Raceway Park, watching her father, Gregg, compete in the Sportsman ranks and then, at age 8, making her first pass down any dragstrip at the Houston facility in her Jr. Dragster, so it makes perfect sense that the facility was also where she scored her first national event victory.

Already a major success in NHRA’s Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League and the subject of the Disney movie Right On Track, Enders had graduated to the NHRA Sportsman ranks in Super Gas and scored her first of 36 NHRA national event wins, defeating Jonathan Johnson in the final round at the 2004 event.

A year later, she began a Pro Stock career that has carried her to four world championships and victories in Houston in 2014 and 2015.
