NHRA racers across the country vying for Summit Racing Series championships
Competition in the NHRA Summit Racing Series is underway across North America as grassroots racers begin their journey towards the glory of winning an NHRA national championship in one of the most unique programs in motorsports.
Thousands of competitors in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, and E.T. Motorcycle are competing at participating NHRA member tracks, earning track championship points. Top points earners at the end of the season will be selected to represent their home track in the divisional Summit Racing Series E.T. Finals.
Seven Division E.T. Finals events will crown champions in each category, who will earn a spot on drag racing’s most prominent stage to compete for the Summit Racing Series National Championships in late October during the Dodge NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
(Due to border restrictions, NHRA Division 6 and the Canadian Member Tracks will host a Summit ET Finals style event for Canadian-based racers Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4-5. If you are interested in entering this event, contact your home NHRA track and watch NHRADiv6.com or Division 6 Facebook page for more details in the coming weeks.)
Joining the 28 champions from the seven Division Summit E.T. Finals will be four Wild Card entries, one for each class, to create eight-car fields. The Wild Card winners for 2021, as determined by a random draw, are: Super Pro, Division 5; Pro, Division 4; Sportsman, Division 6; and Motorcycle/Sled, Division 3.

Success in the Summit Racing Series means cash in your pocket!
More than 30 companies have partnered with the NHRA to reward Summit Racing Series racers for their success. $313,000 in cash awards have been posted for the 2021 Summit Racing Series to incentivize racers to run Contingency Sponsor products and decals on their race vehicles.
How do you collect your share of that money? When you win or runner up in one of the four Summit Racing Series classes, NHRA Contingency program inspectors will check for the presence of more than 40 different participating products and their decals. Each product and decal confirmed to be on race a vehicle is worth $200 (winner) or $100 (runner-up) for cars, and $100 (winner) or $50 (runner-up) for motorcycles.
A properly equipped car could bring home an additional $5,000 in cash payments thanks to these NHRA Contingency sponsors.
