NHRA Contingency

Want to get paid to win, outrun the competition, and develop state-of-the-art performance parts? Perfect, so do the manufacturers that have joined the NHRA Contingency Program — and they want you on their team.

Wait. What?

The NHRA’s Contingency Program is a grassroots marketing platform that connects drag racers with manufacturers of performance products. How? Every weekend from February to November there are NHRA races across North America drawing thousands of racers together. Each of these races has dozens of winners, runner-ups, and semifinalists. The cars that do well get celebrated and shared on all forms of media — the cars that don’t, well, they go back to the shop to figure out where they came up short.

Often, the difference between winning and losing is the combination of parts you bring to the starting line. The NHRA Contingency Program incentivizes racers to run decals that tell the rest of the world what parts are in their cars. When those drivers win (and the NHRA Tech Department has confirmed the required products and decals are on the car), the NHRA Contingency partners posting in those classes pay $50-$2,500 to the racer. The racers win, the manufacturers win, and people looking to build competitive cars win.

The success of the NHRA Contingency Program is very important to both the manufacturers and the racing community. The manufacturers and the respective products listed below have already committed to the 2020 NHRA Contingency Program. This list is continually being updated. To become eligible for sponsor awards, competitors must be in compliance with the NHRA Rulebook, be able to show proof of purchase of the product claimed, as well as meet the additional requirements from the sponsor and NHRA. Sponsor contacts, requirements, new sponsors, and additional information can be found on the Contingency Sponsor Information page on NHRARacer.com. Decals are available from each specific manufacturer. Some are also available at the Tech/Registration trailer at NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events.
