Summit Racing Equipment, an industry leader in distribution of auto racing parts and equipment through catalogs and the Internet, has renewed its long-standing sponsorship of the NHRA Summit Drag Racing Series, Summit Racing NHRA King of the Track program, and the official high-performance source of NHRA. The commitment by Summit Racing continues to support sportsman racers across the country which has long been the backbone of drag racing.

“Summit Racing Equipment and their dedication to sportsman racers is key to the success of the large amount of racing at our NHRA member tracks,” said Brad Gerber, NHRA vice president of sales & chief development officer. “We highly value Summit Racing Equipment’s long term mutually beneficial involvement with the sport of NHRA Championship Drag Racing.”

“We are excited to continue our support of NHRA sportsman racing across the country with these prestigious programs,” said Jim Greenleaf, Summit Racing motorsports manager. “These programs support all NHRA sanctioned tracks by allowing their racers the opportunity to run for a National Championship at the NHRA Finals in Pomona, the Summit Racing Series is one of the most exciting sportsman programs in drag racing.

The NHRA Summit Racing Series is contested across North America and forms the world's largest motorsports program in terms of racer participation. The bracket racing format allows drivers in many types of vehicles, including dragsters, roadsters, sedans, and coupes, to compete on an equal basis against each other. In addition to three categories of competition for cars, a motorcycle category is featured.

At the end of the season, each track selects a team of racers from among its top points finishers to represent the track at the divisional Summit Racing Series Finals. Competitors, running in different categories based on performance, race until a champion is crowned in each category.

Division champions in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, and Motorcycle receive a division champion's trophy, jacket, and purse. They then advance to the NHRA Summit Racing Series National Championship at the season-ending Auto Club NHRA Finals in Pomona and compete for a lucrative Summit prize fund, the national championship trophy, and jacket and contingency awards.

The NHRA Summit King of the Track bonus program is a once a year special event held at NHRA member tracks in conjunction with a weekly racing event. Winners compete head to head with dials to become the Summit King of the Track champion, who will receive an NHRA Wally and King of the Track hat, and a winner's picture printed in National DRAGSTER.

Summit Racing Equipment will also continue as the official high-performance source of NHRA. The wide-ranging amount of parts, knowledge and resources Summit Racing Equipment provides to racers across the country allows for fierce racing across in each category.
