Heart of the NHRA: Karting race for charity

NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series stars took to the twists and turns of the Speedway Indoor Karting go-kart track Wednesday, Aug. 31, prior to the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals for a  charity karting event to raise money for Riley Children’s Hospital.

Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Matt Smith won the event, which also included Antron Brown, Tony Schumacher, Richie Crampton, Cruz Pedregon, Andrew Hines, Jason Line, Steve Torrence, Shawn Langdon, Jack Beckman, Tommy Johnson Jr., Eddie Krawiec, Alex Laughlin, Bo Butner, NHRA Fox analyst Tony Pedregon, and more. A check for $2,500, courtesy of Pennzoil, was presented to Riley Children’s Hospital.

Riley Children's Health offers children access to comprehensive care across Indiana, including at Riley Hospital for Children in downtown Indianapolis, a favorite charity of Don Schumacher Racing, whose sponsors include Pennzoil.
