Event Info
Stadium-like Route 66 Raceway, which opened in 1998 just outside of the Windy City, has regularly been the site of astounding performances. The event hosts the JEGS Allstars, which pits the best NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series racers from across the country in individual and team competition.
As always, fans will have the opportunity to interact with their favorite drivers, as Every Ticket's a Pit Pass® at the most powerful and sensory-filled motorsports attraction on the planet! Get direct access to the teams, see firsthand as the highly-skilled mechanics service their hot rods between rounds, and get autographs from your favorite NHRA drivers.

How to Get There: The track is approximately 30 miles southwest of Chicago on Route 53 (historic Route 66), three miles south of Interstate 80 in Joliet. From points north, take I-355 south to I-80 west to Route 53/Chicago Street (Exit 132) and proceed south to the track. From points south, take I-55 north to Arsenal Road, then proceed east to Route 53 north to the track. From points east and west, take I-80 to Exit 132 (Route 53) and follow Route 53 south to the track.

First Round Follow Up – Meet announcer Brian Lohnes in the Pits after first round to get the scoop on the hottest story from Round 1.
Toyota Autograph Session - Come by the Toyota Midway Display and receive autographs from all of your favorite NHRA Toyota Drivers - 3:30 PM - 4:00 PM
Jet Cars - After Nitro qualifying, stick around to see our spectacular Douthit Motorsports eye lighting Black Pearl Jet Funny Car vs. Pro Jet Motorsports Al Z's Hot Blade Jet Dragster! Known for their exciting pre-run flame shows and after burner pops, jet cars are thrust driven vehicles propelled by jet engines!

Nitro School – Come join Alan Reinhart and T.J. Zizzo at the NHRA Midway Display and get schooled on all your Nitro knowledge - 1:15 P.M.

Pre-Race Ceremonies - Make sure you stick around the Mello Yello FanZone after the trackwalk for our driver introductions.
Race Day - The top 16 qualifiers in each class battle it out head to head for the Wally.
Winners Circle - Stick around after racing is completed as we crown our Mello Yello event champions. Winners Circle will be held at the starting line or in the staging lanes.

First Responders
Throughout the 2017 season, the NHRA will pay tribute to the legion of first responders, the heroes who are among the first people to arrive and assist at the scene of an emergency.
NHRA Salutes First Responders will honor medical professionals, law-enforcement officers, firefighters, members of the armed forces, and a number of other professions charged with the safety and well-being of the public, much like the Safety Safari is charged with the safety and well-being of the racing community.
