Funny Car standout J.R. Todd looks to get first win at Thunder Valley while racing over Father's Day weekend.

Mello Yello NHRA Drag Racing's return to Virginia Motorsports Park came with all the expected fanfare as all four pro classes delivered thrilling races on a spectacular surface. NHRA reporters Lewis Bloom and Amanda Busick share their top five moments of the weekend delivered by Papa John's.

Tom “the Mongoose” McEwen, one of the iconic figures in drag racing history, died June 10. He was 81. McEwen, voted No. 16 on NHRA's Top 50 Drivers lists in 2001, competed in both Funny Car and Top Fuel, and although he wasn't one of drag racing's most prolific winners, he certainly was one of its most colorful.

Courtney Force defeated her dad in the NHRA's return to Richmond, while Steve Torrence, Tanner Gray, and LE Tonglet captured victories at inaugural Virginia NHRA Nationals.

Mike Janis secured his fifth career victory Sunday during the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by presented by J&A Service portion of the Virginia NHRA Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park.
